Hi Everyone The cowboy romance "Brokeback Mountain" led Golden Globe contenders Tuesday with seven nominations, among them best dramatic picture and honors for actors Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams and director Ang Lee positioning itself as a key Academy Awards competitor. The Globes were the latest recognition for "Brokeback Mountain," a critical darling that has received top honors from critics groups in New York City, Los Angeles and Boston. Ledger, who plays a family man concealing a homosexual affair from his family, is a best dramatic actor nominee. Based on a short story by Annie Proulx, "Brokeback Mountain" grabbed a supporting actress nomination for Williams as Ledger's wife, who chooses to ignore his affair with a man (Jake Gyllenhaal) to hold her family together. The movie also scored a directing nomination for Lee and received nominations for best screenplay, score and song. Check out the site, and we shall see you at the club this week. The Rio Grande Valley now has a Channel geared for the GLB Community. LOGO is now available to us with programing set to entertain us all. Since it started in the valley a few months ago, we have seen LOGO get Better and Better. The End of Showtime's Queer As Folk had left us hungry for more entertainment of this kind. LOGO has been entertaining us with new Movies and Shows. This past Sunday Oct. 23rd, Shantii, George and I had such a great time watching the premiere of Latter Days. What a great movie it was as everyone was seen wiping their tears away with the outcome of the movie. Check out Latter Days A bet between friends is the catalyst that leads a gay party boy and a Mormon missionary to discover not only each other but themselves. In this surprisingly touching story, stereotypes of religion and homosexuality are challenged as these two young men come to greater understanding of what it means to be in love, despite what they believe. I know that it's been a while since we did some changes on the site but we have need trying new things to see what we can do to the pages. I am working on some new Text styles that i have finally managed to get working. I have added a page to our site for the new record breaking movie
