We live in a world that, except for some urban areas, centers around heterosexuals. Just like women need areas that are all female in order to escape, exercise or even for just an evening from this male-dominated world, so do gay people, but isn't it ironic that a lot of straight people end up at gay bars. Explain that! Who's to say that straight people are or aren't welcomed at a gay establishment? About 99% of straight clubs are not gay friendly. Should gay clubs be straight friendly? As they saying goes: "the straight people have the rest of the world." Perhaps this may be the answer to homophobia or perhaps it may not be the answer to homophobia. So for a straight person to go to a gay bar seems cool to me as long as there is mutual respect for each other. I know that this topic is very fragile in many areas and I respect that. Everyone has their beliefs and philosophies in what they believe in or disagree with. The heterosexual person may go to gay clubs because they are obviously fine with their surroundings and accepting of the culture around them, enjoy the atmosphere, music and the entertainment that it has to offer. As everyone knows, the entertainment and a good show at a gay club in any city is usually the best entertainment by far. Perhaps he or she may be looking for a good conversation or for something else? I think it's great that straight people go to gay clubs, because they can all party together, but I think they need to understand that someone of the same sex may be after them... and they need to be respectful of that. This article has nothing to do with being out and proud. It has nothing to do with a colored rainbow flag. It has nothing to do with being straight or gay. It simply has to do with people coming together, celebrating, having fun and respecting each other without being judged, mocked or belittled under one roof while listening to the same music! How awesome is that?
