 BACK  Channel 263 on Direct TV Logo, a new gay and lesbian network from MTV Networks, is now available here in the Rio Grande Valley. Logo, an around-the-clock advertising-based network featuring films, original series and other gay programming, launched June 30. We here at the One/The Veranda (SYM group) have enjoyed viewing Logo since July 1st and are glad to have a channel that has entertainment geared for the gay commuinity but is watched by gay and straight people alike. CBS, Showtime and MTV are sister networks. We continue to watch the weekely episodes of Queer As Folk at One/The Veranda every Sunday. The end is near. The final Episode will be July 24th. We will surely miss Queer As Folk, the series that started it all with it's "No Limits" and boy did they mean it! Cindy Lauper will be on this Sunday's episode July 17th, before tragedy strikes the group. I will miss all of you who have joined me Sunday nights for the past few years watching QAF. Now we know that we will have LoGo to entertain us. We have been discussing plans for Speak Your Mind's 3rd anniversary. We will notify via e-mail soon as we are making the final plans. Who would have thought. It seemed like yesterday and our 3rd year has creeped up on us. The Party continues..... Silently Ibiza shut it's doors. When I heard that it was closing, It was a rumor I didn't believe. We are temporarily back to 2 Night clubs in the lower valley. Well, One night Club (Vals), and one Sports Club (Heart Rock) but as the word goes about there will be others. Valentinos continues to grow/change in several ways, one been the opening of their new Patio this July 2nd. And Heart Rock had their "grand re-opening" this past Saturday. These Clubs are different but they give all of us a choice now. Somewhere to go to when you want a break from the same routine. Plus now there will be somone out there competing for the dollar. However to many of our gay & gayfriendly friends out there- all that really matters is the best dance music and a secure safe place. Give us the music gay clubs are known for -"having the best dance music". We will be changing the site pages again soon as Speak Your Mind heads for our 3rd year. We are working on some changes.
