Celebrity News By ShAnTii Hi Speak Your Mind Readers. I wanted to write something different and keep it fresh in our new page, Klick N' Read. I did some surfing for something fresh. I'll be sharing some of these goodies with you in addition to the articles I will write time to time. Enjoy!! Boy Oh boy One thing for sure, Boy George won't be singing a happy song anytime soon. He'll be singing, "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?" On Tuesday, August 15th, the front man (girlie boy) for Culture Club swept up trash in New York City. It was a five-day part of his community service sentence after a cocaine bust at his home. Boy George has struggled with drug problems for years. Apparently, he called police to his Manhattan apartment for burglary and the officers found cocaine inside instead. A Manhattan judge threatened the good ol' boy with jail time if he failed to complete his five days before August 28th. I've been a huge Boy George & Culture Club fan since the early 80's and I never thought I'd read about him sweeping the Big Apple other than by his music and concerts. That is definitely one for the books. All I can say now is, It's not Kisses of Charity, it's Kisses for Humanity. Quinceañera First, there was Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles. Now, there is Emily Rios in Quinceañera. A celebration that we are familiar with. I am sure we will hear the sounds of mariachis and a lot of latin music. It will be a taste and a tribute to our culture. After seeing one of the movie's trailers and reading up on the movie, it is basically about a young lady who wants everything to be perfect for her Quinceañera. She will have several obstacles, drama, family crisis and hand me downs along the way. It is a very sad but honest movie that one will laugh, cry and be familiar with, especially latinos. The movie was the winner of the Dramatic Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. And like most modern-day movies, some gay characters have also been included to spice it up. I am looking forward to seeing this captivating tale of a teenager facing womanhood. The movie took place in the Latino Community of Echo Park in Los Angeles, California. Oops! She Did It Again Never say never Britney. Kevin and Britney have surely been keeping busy lately these past eight months during her pregnancy to their 2nd baby. It has been said that Britney's career has taken a back seat due to her new mommie role and being a full-time wife to the soon-to-be singer, Kevin Federline. The cheerful dad will be releasing his first solo album later this fall. Britney has been exploited all over the tabloids of being a bad mom because her baby was on her lap as she drove around town a few months ago. What do you think? I bet that little baby was then saying, "You Drive Me Crazy." Spank Me 48 Times Fans at the August 16th show at Wembley Arena in London, England got the chance to sing Happy Birthday to 48 year old Madonna with a little help from Donna and Nicki. Madonna's eight nights at London's Wembley Arena came to end last night, August 16th - and what a way to end. Not only was the show filmed for TV broadcast and a DVD but fans from around the world got to sing Happy Birthday to Madonna! It was another great performance from Madonna and crew, which means fans are in for a treat when the show hits TV. Madonna did look touched by this sing-along and started her speech: "I couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday and to tell you the truth it's a hell of a lot better than the way I spent it last year! If somebody had told me that a year ago when I was in bed with ten broken bones, pumped up with morphine, that I would have such an amazing year I would say 'Yeah, and I'm the Queen of England!' I feel so grateful, blessed and loved. I also want to say to everybody watching the show tonight, I look into the audience tonight and I see flags from all nations, I see people from all walks of life, different color skins, different languages, different belief systems, different educations, different opinions - we are all so different - and yet we are all here together as one. That is proof that we can do it in the rest of the world. The best birthday present you can give to me is to leave this place tonight with that feeling in your heart - that we are one." If She Could Turn Back Time Perhaps if Cher were to turn back time, she could've been getting rid of some of her home goodies a little at a time. The diva who gave the world a three year farewell tour and grossed almost $ 175,000,000 dollars after 40 plus years under her belt in the business, is auctioning a lot of her items from her personal and professional wardrobe. Art pieces and artwork, jewelry, dresses from the 70's that she wore during the Sonny & Cher Show, concert outfits, farewell tour costumes, furniture etc... It said that she will be auctioning off over 700 pieces from her Malibu Home. Auctioning is scheduled to begin October 3rd. Auction houses Sotheby's and Juliens, will be overseeing the project in hopes to raise over 1 million dollars for Cher's charity organizations which help different causes. Believe, and they will come. | Klick N Read New | Klick & Read Aug/Oct 06 | Henri On.... | In The Guirre | AN ORDINARY DAY | | Return Home | Klick N Read | Monthly Calendar | SYM Calendar | Venue Photos | SYM Photos | News Etc | VALENTINOS | My Space | Great Links | FAQ Page | Contact Us | |
