 BACK  And The QUEEN Is.........!!! Ok - This is ShAnTii writing on how it was to be a judge for a "Drag Queen Pageant." It was a DIVINE experience judging the talent at the Miss Valentinos 2005 - The Pageant. I must say that a lot needs to be done and so much preparation for the grand and festive night. One thing though, the make-up is by far a lot more colourful, stylish, chic and sassy in drag pageants than a straight pageant. I have to give it up to the young lads who transform themselves into beautiful, glamorous, sexy and entertaining DIVAS! Judging on talent, evening gown, audience response and make-up technique is a very difficult job. As each contestant performs, it gets difficult and draining to judge them individually not in comparison to each other. Gowns have to be to the heel, beads need to be consistant and the flow needs to be finished and the makeup and hairstyle most definitly has to agree and compliment the dress and the song. I have to admit that it feels nice to be at a selective lighted table and receive free drinks! That is most definite one of the highlights of being a judge - no pun intended. I don't have time to really go into too much detail with what went through my mind. Though, I have to be honest and mention that just as I entertained positive thoughts, negative thoughts did surface and made me ask, "what was he thinking?" In conclusion, the expressions on the 'girls' faces are stunningly nervous, anxious and excited! Most talented goes too! Most beautiful dress goes too! Best Audience response goes too! Most beautiful goes too! Now - 2nd Runner up is .......... 1st Runner Up is......... and the Queen is ....................!!! Yaaaaay - Applause - Applause - Crowd Cheers, Whistles and Cameras and Cell Phones are going off Crazy taking Pictures.
